why am I in this STUPID human costume?

About
Lucid

As a cyborg created in an inter-spatial pocket dimension, I started writing to understand your “human condition.” As such, my work reflects a constant search for meaning along with flashes of inspiration from the other realities and timelines in which I exist.

A lover of sci-fi and a roller of d20s in a time before geek was chic, I am a writer, producer, and narrative designer telling stories, building worlds, and crafting experiences for screens of all kinds. I have written and developed features, pilots, VR experiences, and short-form interactive narratives for companies across the globe - from mainstream Hollywood studios to startups and indie companies.

As VP of Development at Bee Holder Productions, I wear many hats including writer, producer, graphic designer, and more. I am fortunate to work daily with WGA writers, bestselling novelists, and visionary directors to develop and produce many exciting upcoming film and television projects.

I have an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA and an MFA in VFX from Clemson University, and I've presented my work on storytelling and world building at the East Coast Game Conference, the Southern Interactive Entertainment Expo, and TEDx.

SCREENWRITING
LINK (one-hour pilot)
"This is an extremely well developed character drama with high stakes and complex characters. There is no reason this script shouldn't elicit interest from producers willing to develop it further and shepherd it into market. This series would make a great companion piece on HBO for SUCCESSION. It could easily find a home on any premium cable outlet or streaming service." - Black List Professional Evaluation.

LINK is a geopolitical drama inspired by real events from the shadowy world of corporate security. The series takes place in New York and China where the power struggle between these two countries becomes the backdrop for illicit business deals in Xinjiang with shocking, world-changing implications.

We follow a diverse cast of truth-tellers as they struggle to overcome their own self interests in the name of a greater good. Leveraging the elite skill sets of former intelligence officers, special forces veterans, and ex-journalists, these modern mercenaries and corporate spies affect our lives in ways few of us know or comprehend.

Until now.

AFF-secondRound-2021.png
"FULFILLMENT takes an advanced sci-fi story idea, updates the love-story-between-humans-and-machines plot and elevates character development with a sensitivity for non-binary people. It's also extremely well-written and flawless technically." - Austin Film Festival.

The only human worker at an Amazon-like fulfillment center develops an unlikely romantic relationship with the center's A.I. after the world outside collapses. But, when a human survivor arrives at their door, the trio must learn to co-exist, even as the A.I. is convinced that their guest has come to sabotage more than their relationship.

HELL IS OTHER COWBOYS (one-hour pilot)

WINNER - SECOND PLACE

Gunslingers, gangsters, and gamblers. Deities, demigods, and Death itself. Redemption and damnation. Love and lust. Prophets and nonbelievers. Dangerous outlaws, mysterious women, corrupt politicians, and existential crises. Welcome to Hell is Other Cowboys.

This gritty series marries the spaghetti and acid western subgenres, takes their lovechild, and splices it with epic high fantasy to create a genre-bending world blurring the lines between pulp fiction and human drama.

THE BALLAD OF THE REDNECK MECH (feature)
"Anime meets Andy Griffith! Kind of a Rock-em, Sock-em Robot/Karate Kid fusion. The storyline is familiar, but is taken to a different level with the unique voice and high quality of writing and visuals. The script balances banter with subtext skillfully through well-structured and layered characters." - Austin Film Festival.

The Man in Black is a Johnny Cash song come to life. When he sings, you listen, and he has a song he wants you to hear:

It's the story of when eighteen year old Willow Montgomery ran away to be a pilot in Major League Mecha, fought her way to the championship, and fell for her rival, Jasper. But it wouldn't be a country ballad without a healthy does of tragedy. Well, Willow has already lost her mother, and she doesn't have a dog, so things aren't looking good for her grandfather, Buster, who forbids her from the sport.

FAMILIAR (one-hour pilot)
"Incredibly high-concept, this is something between cyberpunk and fantasy that is the logical conclusion of Clarke's third law: 'Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.'  Imagine if THE HUNGER GAMES met ENDER'S GAME with a dash of TRON. The dialog of each character is fantastic; what's most impressive is how little the characters talk about the story world, but how much information is relayed with what little is actually said." - Austin Film Festival.

YOUNG GUNS N' ROSES: THE SPAGHETTI WESTERN INCIDENT(feature)
"The satire is both on point and hilarious, and the musical cues and references within the dialogue littered throughout the story are a joy to read. The action is also spectacular, the various battles having a variety of combat within them. The train scenes in particular are enthralling, and the buildup of the action in the plot in the third act is fun and fast-paced."

TABLEREAD MY SCREENPLAY, TOP 100

In the Wild West, filled with big guns and even bigger hair, Axl Rose puts the notorious Rose Gang back together to derail a pack of train bandits, but an old nemesis threatens to tear the outlaw band apart.

This is an 80s action adventure and fantasy western in every sense of the terms. It was written purely out of celebration of the over-the-top music and attitude of one of the world’s most famous and notorious rock bands, reimagining them as an actual gang.

Want to see Metallica as gun runners? Lemmy Killmeister as a crazy prospector? Ozzy as a tribal shaman? Amid the gun battles and dissing on Bon Jovi, it’s all here as the Rose Gang takes down Mr. Brownstone and his deadly Night Train…
